About Me

Zahedul Amin is an entrepreneur, sustainable business consultant and a researcher with a decade of experience in private & development sector consulting, market research, technology and banking. He co-founded multiple startups, which includes LightCastle Partners, a tech enabled consulting and data analytics firm with 150+ clients, LC Impact, an impact investment firm focusing on small enterprise development and LightCastle Data, an online platform for collecting and analyzing data.

Zahed has expertise in consulting and research and has led 100+ projects with private and development sector clients. He believes in the power of data in driving strategic imperatives for clients. Based on his diverse experiences, he’s adept at cross-migrating sector best practices for designing sustainable business models and engaging private sector in solving development challenges. He has significant expertise in market and consumer research, value chain analysis, business model development, private sector development, financial modeling and impact investment assessment.

Zahed has deep knowledge on Bangladesh’s economic underpinnings vis-à-vis equitable growth challenges. He strongly believes in the power of entrepreneurship for facilitating our country’s growth. As part of his commitment towards local entrepreneurship ecosystem, he conceptualized and launched a free valuation tool, pitch-tech platform and a networking and competition platform for female tech founders.

Zahed has directly collaborated with top development and private sector clients including- IFC, WEConnect International, Ashoka, SNV, ACI, Robi, CARE Bangladesh, KPMG, Wateraid, EMK Center, PRAN-RFL, CDC Group, Frontier Innovators, Katalyst, BCG, PwC, DAI, Habitat for Humanity, WSUP, Traidcraft, Ricardo Consulting, RDRS, BEOL, Mostafa Group, ACI Godrej, Olympic Group, AK Khan Group, Eon Group and Rahimafrooz.

Previously, Zahed worked for HSBC’s commercial banking department, specializing in relationship management, credit and risk analytics. As an Assistant Relationship Manager, he managed a portfolio of 15 corporate clients with total banking portfolio of USD120M. He has expertise in credit assessment using financial and market data for deriving credit ratings, using platforms like Moody’s Risk analytics. He also conducted regular market updates for RMG and Textiles, Power, Plastics, LPG, Cement, agro commodities and steel sectors.

Zahed holds BBA and EMBA degrees from Institute of Business Administration (IBA). He’s an International Visitors’ Leadership Program (IVLP) alum and an entrepreneurship fellow at State University of New York (SUNY) Korea. He recently represented Bangladesh in International Leadership Program (ILP) as a fellow, hosted by Prince’s Trust International in UK. Zahed is an Acumen fellow.

Zahed has keen interest in economic analysis, geo-politics, business strategy and enterprise development. He regularly conducts trainings on financial and business modeling, enterprise development and mentors young entrepreneurs. In his free time, Zahed loves to read and travels extensively.
